Our area is full of little towns with lots of culture and amazing people… so when fair time rolls around it is really a treat to get out and see what type of party these people can put on!!! Fairs in the North Central Idaho region happen in August and September and are full of rides; exhibits; animals and most of all FUN for the WHOLE Family!
Recently my family visited the Clearwater County Fair & Lumberjack Days in Orofino Idaho… WOW… can those people put on a show. It featured several parades; a professional Lumberjack Show (one of the only left in the US); a full carnival and 4-H barns.
At the end of the weekend my family was happy… and the it was time to start working off the amazing Doughboys (an elephant ear type pastry that is only made during fair time); and haystacks (tortilla chips, chili and lettuce… oh my!)… but I can’t wait to return again next September!
Visit Idaho.org has provided us with an amzing map and summary of the Fairs and Festivals in our area… check it out here!
Or if you have a different fair that you would like to tell me about; please do so in the comments; I always love new ideas of what to check out!
