What a (literally) sweet, little find! Drive into Deary, Idaho (about a half hour from Moscow) and you’ll discover two businesses in one spot that keep churning out delicious, award-winning cheese, baked goods and completely hand-crafted candles, linens, and more.
Stop at Pie Safe Bakery for breakfast or lunch Tue-Fri 7am – 5pm, or Sat 7am-6pm. They serve locally roasted coffee from Landgrove Coffee Roasters (Troy, Idaho) and fresh made-from-scratch daily cinnamon rolls, scones, danish and other assorted pastries. When lunch rolls around, their gorgeous wood-fired brick oven produces a variety of yummy pizzas. Grilled panini sandwiches, salads and soups are also on the menu. There’s absolutely no excuse to skip dessert when you can choose from cookies, pies and fresh made custards served in a handmade waffle cone. The bakery uses cheeses that are made by Brush Creek Creamery, located in the same building.
Brush Creek Creamy, produces tangy blue cheese, creamy brie, Mediterranean soft cheese, an Italian Montasio, marinated feta, and cheddar. These are just a few of their award-winning cheeses produced from local milk.
Browse the shop for local eggs, homemade preserves, loose leaf teas, pasta, and a large selection of handmade crafts that include candles, blankets, tea towels and more.
