Weippe Prairie

Weippe Prairie, a traditional Nez Perce village and camas gathering site was the place where the Nez Perce first encountered and aided the Lewis and Clark Expedition. The landscape, preserved by the park, is located 2 miles southeast of the town of Weippe on Larson Road; follow the road signs from Weippe to the interpretive pullout.
